Maporize Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Maporize ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. Maporize is a geography quiz game for iOS, developed by Ulaş Akkoyun. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Quick summary: Maporize uses Google Firebase to sign you in and save your progress, and Google AdMob to show optional rewarded ads. We ask for App Tracking Transparency permission so ads can be personalized only if you allow it. We do not request your device location and do not sell your personal data.
1. Information we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the game, your account, and the ads that keep it free.
- Account information — You sign in with Google or Apple. From that sign-in we receive a unique user ID and, depending on the provider and your choices, your email address and name. We do not receive or store your Google/Apple password.
- Profile & gameplay data you create — a unique username you choose, and your in-game progress: experience points (XP), level, coins, statistics such as games played and best score, unlocked game modes, which places you have learned, and your daily-reward streak. This is stored in your account so it syncs across sessions and devices.
- Public leaderboard data — your chosen username and total XP, which are visible to other signed-in players on the in-app leaderboard.
- Advertising data — when you choose to watch a rewarded ad, our advertising provider Google AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, and ad-interaction data to deliver and measure ads. Whether your advertising identifier is used to personalize ads depends on your App Tracking Transparency choice — see Advertising below.
- On-device settings — preferences such as sound, music, haptics and language are stored locally on your device and are not collected by us.
Maporize does not collect your device's location — the maps are played by tapping regions on screen, with no GPS or location permission. We also do not access your contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The only tracking-related data is the advertising identifier described above, and only with your permission.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Maporize is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Ads are optional and rewarded: you choose to watch a short video to earn coins, continue after a loss, or double a reward. The app does not show forced full-screen (interstitial) or banner ads.
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — shortly after you first open the app, Apple's system prompt asks whether Maporize may track you. Your choice controls whether your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is used.
- If you allow tracking — AdMob may use your advertising identifier to show personalized ads and measure their performance.
- If you don't allow tracking — ads are non-personalized, and your advertising identifier is not used to track you across other apps and websites.
Ad data is processed by Google as an independent advertising provider. Learn more in how AdMob handles data and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To save and sync your progress, level, coins, statistics and unlocked content across sessions.
- To show the global leaderboard and your ranking.
- To show optional rewarded ads and, where you have allowed it, to keep them relevant.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
4. How your data is stored and who processes it
Maporize relies on the following service providers:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — manages secure sign-in with Google and Apple.
- Cloud Firestore (Google) — stores your profile, progress and leaderboard entry.
- Google AdMob — delivers and measures the optional rewarded ads described above.
This data is processed by Google as our service provider. See the Firebase Privacy and Security and Google Privacy Policy. This website (ulasakkoyun.com) is served via Cloudflare. We do not sell your personal data to anyone. Apple and Google may also process information related to your sign-in provider account.
5. Information sharing
The only information visible to other users is your public leaderboard entry (username and total XP). We share data with service providers only to operate the app: account and progress data with Google Firebase, and advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data with Google AdMob to serve ads. We do not sell your personal data, and we may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention & deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time, directly in the app: open the Account screen and tap Delete Account. This removes your authentication account and all associated data — profile, progress, coins, statistics, username reservation and leaderboard entry. This action is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups or cached copies may persist for a limited time before deletion is fully propagated.
We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the associated data is deleted. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own policies. If you need help, contact us (see below).
7. Children's privacy
Maporize is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or Turkey's KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise the core of these rights yourself by deleting your account in the app, or by contacting us for assistance. You can also change your ad-tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
9. Security
We rely on Google Firebase's industry-standard security and access rules so that each user can only read and write their own data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. International users
Your information may be stored and processed on Google's servers, which may be located outside your country. By using the app, you consent to this processing.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
